Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for November 12th and 13th. These conversations are an important part of home-school communication and a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate successes, and strengthen our partnership. We hope every family will participate! More information about conference sign-ups will be shared on Tuesday, October 13, so please be on the lookout.
For families needing interpretation services, Selvi Oyola, Director of Multilingual Learners, will reach out directly to schedule them for either November 4th or 9th. Please be on the lookout for more information.
Today, third-grade students enjoyed a walking field trip to the Southborough Townhouse as part of their social studies unit! The visit connected their learning about local landmarks and their significance with an exploration of how people participate in and contribute to their community. Students also took part in a mock election, which helped them better understand local government, the voting process, and how to make their voices heard.

Hola from Spanish! In Spanish, our goal in both our 2nd- and 3rd-grade classes is for our students to speak as much Spanish as possible. We want them to feel comfortable speaking a new language. Students learn to speak by having dialogues, singing songs, dancing, and putting on mini-plays. Grade 3 is learning the Spanish ABCs and is beginning to sound out words and read in Spanish. In the picture, you will see an example of second graders singing the “Me llamo Paco” song. They learn how to introduce each other and various characters while singing the song.

How do we help children build healthy technology habits in a world where screens are everywhere?
The answer isn’t simply counting minutes. Healthy digital habits develop when adults model, guide, set boundaries, and gradually help children learn to manage technology for themselves. Whether your child is in kindergarten or high school, small routines at home can make a difference.
Visit our Digital Wellness page this month for practical, research-based strategies for setting routines, using parental controls, and supporting healthy technology habits at every age.

As we settle into our daily school routines, please remember to send a healthy, nut-free snack and a refillable water bottle with your student each day. Our students work hard throughout the morning, and a nutritious snack provides them with the energy and focus needed for an engaging day of learning.
Guidelines for Classroom Snacks
-
100% Nut-Free Snacks Only: Due to severe food allergies in our classrooms, all daily classroom snacks must be completely nut-free. Please check food labels carefully before packing.
-
Focus on Healthy Energy: Snacks rich in fiber, complex carbohydrates, and lean protein help keep children feeling full and energized.
-
Save Treats & Candy for Home: Candy, chocolates, and sugary treats do not provide lasting energy for school activities. Additionally, many chocolates contain hidden nut ingredients.
-
Hydration: Please send a labeled, refillable water bottle daily. Water is best for hydration during the school day—please avoid drinks containing caffeine or high sugar content.
What If a Student Forgets Their Snack?
We understand that busy mornings happen! If a student forgets their snack, backup saltine crackers are available in the Health Office, so no student goes hungry. However, having a regular snack packed from home helps maintain a smooth classroom routine.
Reminder about School Breakfast
Breakfast is provided in the cafeteria each morning. Students who have not eaten breakfast at home are encouraged to come into the cafeteria to eat. We kindly ask that students who want to eat breakfast at school and who are driven to school arrive by 8:45 am so that they have enough time to eat and can get to class on time for 8:55 am.
Thank you for your ongoing support in keeping our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn!
