Dear Families,
Learning is a continuous process. Learning at home and learning at school go hand in hand. During this school year, the second grade team will continue this process by providing active learning experiences, encouraging personal and social growth, and promoting self-esteem. Our goal is to foster a life-long love of learning. The following are some suggestions for helping your child become an active learner in second grade:
- Talk about his/her day at school
- Encourage your child to read aloud or silently
- Treat homework time as quality time
- Review new concepts, practice number facts, and help your child study spelling words each week
We welcome your input and questions. Please feel free to contact us with any concerns regarding your child’s progress or other school related issues.
With warm regards,
Mrs. Black, Mrs. Coyle, Mrs. Farrar, Ms. Serra, and Mrs. Robison
