Today was our first Walking School Bus of the year, and what a wonderful way to start the day together! Twenty students joined staff, families, and our school resource officer, Officer Collins, for a walk to school. A special thank-you to our amazing school nurse, Mrs. Kiley, for organizing this event, and to all the parents who joined us and helped make it a great morning! If you couldn't join us today, we hope you will be able to join an upcoming Walking School Bus, held on Friday mornings throughout the fall. Future dates include 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20.

Yesterday’s CARE assembly was full of excitement as SOS led a fun and energetic pep rally for our upcoming Color Run! Students enjoyed music, cheers, a dance party, and prize updates. Staff even joined in a game of Granny Pants, which was a huge hit with students! A huge thank-you to SOS and our parent volunteers for organizing and supporting this event, and a special thank-you to Julie Gilman, Danielle DeLaurentis, and Karen Anza for leading the charge with all things Color Run! Please remember to mark your calendar for October 16th, the day of our Color Run. The Color Run is a very popular volunteer opportunity at Woodward, and sign-ups will go live on Sunday. Read below for more informaiton.
Many Woodward students ride the bus to or from home each day. Please have a conversation with your child about what it means to be respectful, responsible, safe, and kind (our school motto) on the bus. These family conversations go a long way and reinforce our values as a school. Thank you for your support!
Also connected to bussing, if your child has lost their RFID bus tag, please let the main office know, or encourage your child to stop into the office.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and it's a cause close to all of our hearts here at school. Every child deserves to feel safe, and respected, both in our hallways and beyond. This month, our students are exploring what it means to be an upstander, not a bystander, and practicing the courage it takes to speak kindly and include others. We encourage families to open conversations at home about what bullying looks like, how it feels, and what your child can do if they ever witness or experience it. Together, we can build a community where every student knows they belong.

Hello from Mrs. Geeze! In our second-grade music classes, we are learning about high and low sounds and voices, singing many high/low songs, using various timbres, and how sound is made by vibration. In third grade, we are working with various rhythms, singing patriotic songs in honor of the upcoming Veterans Day, and learning various folk songs with movement activities. In Strings, we are learning the parts and care of our instruments, as well as beginning some open-string songs. We are excited to begin learning how to hold the bow, too!

Each year, we require all families to verify their students’ demographic and medical information electronically via the PowerSchool Parent Portal. For the safety and well-being of our students, it is necessary to review and update these forms to ensure we have the most up-to-date contact and medical information.
It is imperative that you complete the Returning Student Form at the start of each school year.
If the forms are not completed, participation in extracurricular activities may be restricted due to the necessary updates to health information. We will send weekly reminders until the Returning Student Forms are completed. If you require translation services to complete the registration process, please refer to the last section of this document, titled "Translation Services".
To Complete the Returning Student Form
Step 1 - Log into Your PowerSchool Parent Portal Account
Step 2 - Access the Returning Student Form
Click on Returning Student Form from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
Step 3 - Once you enter your student’s birth date and click Continue, you will be brought into the form to review your student’s information and make any necessary changes for the 25-26 school year.
Please Note - If you have more than one student in the district, you will need to complete the form separately for each student. Each of your students’ names will be visible at the top of the page as separate tabs.
