Another Great Week at Woodward

We had another great week at Woodward! Our routines are coming together more and more each day, and it has been wonderful to see students settling in, building connections, and having fun as they dive into the curriculum. There is a great energy throughout the school as we get the year underway!

Congratulations to Taylor, the lucky raffle winner from the SOS Welcome Back Picnic! Taylor won a special Lunch with the Principal and got to bring along two friends, Fiona and Lily, for a fun lunch together.

The SOS Welcome Back Picnic was a wonderful way to kick off the school year, bringing new and returning Woodward families together for an evening of fun, food, and community. We’re so glad Taylor, Fiona, and Lily got to add a special lunch to the celebration!

School News and Updates

This week, many members of our school community are observing the Jewish High Holy Days, Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Rosh Hashanah is a time of celebration and reflection, welcoming the new year with hope and gratitude, while Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the Jewish year, a time for fasting, prayer, and renewal. We extend warm wishes for a sweet and meaningful new year to all who are celebrating, Shanah Tovah!

Spotlight on Specials- P.E. With Ms. Goode

In our PE classes, the students are learning about beginning-of-the-year routines, procedures, and expectations. This particular lesson focused on cooperation and working together. The students were using foam blocks and their creativity to make something. These skills will help them throughout the year, not only in the PE setting, but also in the classroom and outside of school.

When reporting an absence, please include your child’s name, teacher, and reason for the absence. If your child is absent due to illness, please also provide their symptoms (e.g., rash, fever, cough, sore throat, vomiting, COVID-19 symptoms, etc.).

Contagious Illnesses: If your child has a contagious illness such as chicken pox, Fifth disease, strep throat, conjunctivitis, impetigo, MRSA, measles, pertussis, or lice, please notify the Health Office so that necessary steps can be taken to protect students who are immunocompromised.

If Your Child Becomes Ill at School: Your child will be assessed by the school nurse.
