Join us for the Color Run!

We hope you can join us for the Color Run this Friday, October 10th. The festivities will begin around 1:40 with our students gathering on the softball field before they begin the run. Spectators are asked to stay behind the flags/ropes and off the running track.

Color Run Pep Rally
On Friday, Woodward amped up the excitement for our upcoming Color Run with a fun-filled Pep Rally organized by our amazing SOS team and dedicated parent volunteers! Students and staff came together for an afternoon of energy and school spirit — playing freeze dance, a school-wide wave, and cheering loudly for teachers and staff during some friendly and fun competitions.

The enthusiasm was contagious, and we’re ready to make this Friday’s Color Run our best one yet! There’s still time to support our fundraiser — we’re so close to reaching our $20,000 goal, but we’re not there yet. Donations will be accepted up to our Color Run on Friday, so let’s finish strong, Woodward!

Multilingual Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC) Meeting

We are excited to invite you to our Multilingual Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC) Meeting. This first meeting of the year will be an opportunity to welcome families, reflect on our work together, and hear directly from you about the topics and supports that would be most valuable this year.

Date: Thursday, October 16, 2025
Time: 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Location: Library, Algonquin Regional High School
79 Bartlett Street, Northborough, MA 01532

To make this a welcoming evening for all:

  • Childcare will be provided

  • Pizza dinner will be served

  • Interpretation will be available in Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, and Chinese

Your voice and partnership are essential in supporting our students’ growth and success. We look forward to building community and learning together at this first meeting.

Welcome, Officer Brian Collins, Our New SRO

We’re excited to introduce Officer Brian Collins, our new School Resource Officer (SRO) for Southborough. Officer Collins has already made several visits to Woodward and is eager to become an active and positive presence in our school community. Whether he is greeting students as they arrive in the morning, visiting during lunch, or offering a high-five in the hallway, he is quick to offer a smile and receive one in return from students and staff.

A father of young children, Officer Collins is dedicated to helping keep our school a safe and welcoming place for students to learn and grow. He’s looking forward to joining us for upcoming events, such as our Color Run, and hopes to visit often throughout the year to get to know our students and staff.

When students see Officer Collins at school, they should know he’s here to connect, support, and celebrate alongside them — not because something is wrong, but because he’s part of our Woodward community.

THE WOODWARD WALKING SCHOOL BUS

The Woodward School, working with the Safe Routes to School - a service from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation, runs a WALKING SCHOOL BUS program. Some goals of this program are to encourage walking to school in an effort to increase physical activity and overall health in children, create opportunities for students to learn about road safety, and provide a social opportunity for children and their parents.

We are happy to announce that the Woodward Walking School Bus will resume every Friday morning, starting October 10 and running through November 21.

What is a Walking School Bus?

A walking school bus organizes school staff, parents, and students to walk together from a designated area to the school. It brings families and friends together to be active, socialize, and have FUN!

October 31st Spirit Day

On Friday, October 31st, students are welcome to wear fall colors, comfortable clothes (such as pajamas or onesies), Woodward spirit wear, or Halloween costumes to school. Please note that students will remain in their chosen outfits throughout the entire day, as changing clothes during school hours will not be permitted. All attire should allow for easy bathroom use and full participation in gym, lunch, recess, and specials.

For those choosing to wear Halloween costumes, please ensure they are not disruptive to student learning and do not include toy weapons (e.g., guns, knives, swords, etc.). We also ask that costumes avoid any scary or gory accessories, full masks, or face paint.

We understand that not all families celebrate Halloween, and we respect those preferences. Participation in costume-wearing is completely optional.
