Principal's Message

Please remember to complete your CORI / SORI in the main office if you plan on volunteering for ANY activity at Woodward this year. A completed CORI is good for 2 years and is transferable between Southborough schools.

With the upcoming Color Run fundraiser, please remember to check your CORI/SORI status in the main office. If you do not have an up-to-date CORI/SORI on file, you will not be allowed to participate as a volunteer.

Save The Date!

Mark your calendars! Our annual Woodward SOS Color Run is coming up soon, and we can’t wait for this fun, colorful tradition. The Color Run is not only a student favorite but also an important fundraiser that supports curriculum enrichment, field trips, assemblies, staff appreciation, and more. Families will soon receive more details about how to get involved, including volunteer opportunities and ways to support the event. For now, be sure to save the date for this exciting day—we look forward to celebrating with our students and families!

Creating a Community of Belonging

This week in enrichment, students took part in several different lessons designed to support their social-emotional learning, physical and mental health.

Lessons objectives included:
- Explore what it means to be human — that we all have feelings, make mistakes, and can grow by making good choices.
-Understand that everyone can create and that trying is more important than being “perfect.”
- Explore how lying affects trust and why honesty builds stronger friendships.
- Learn about the cultural significance of a bindi, discuss how Divya learns to feel proud of who she is, and reflect on something that makes them unique.
- Recognize the importance of making others feel welcome and identify ways they can contribute to an inclusive classroom community.

Escooters and Ebikes Prohibited on School Grounds

The safety and well-being of our students and school community is always our top priority. Recently, we’ve seen more electronic bicycles (e-bikes) and scooters around our schools. While these devices are a popular way to get around, they can create safety risks due to their high speeds, limited visibility, and potential danger to riders, pedestrians, and drivers.

After careful review and consultation with the Northborough and Southborough Police Departments, e-bikes and e-scooters are now prohibited on all school campuses. This decision, made out of caution and concern for everyone’s safety, will help prevent accidents and maintain a secure environment for our students and families.
To support this protocol:

Signs will be posted at every school as a reminder.

School administrators will work with families to identify safe alternatives for traveling to and from school, including walking, using a traditional bicycle, riding the bus, or drop-off and pick-up by family members.

We appreciate your understanding and partnership as we take this important step to keep our campuses safe and welcoming for everyone.
Thank you for supporting our efforts to protect our school community.

Respectfully,
Keith Lavoie
Assistant Superintendent of Operations

Reminders from the Main Office

School Forms
We know that the start of the year is a busy time, but please try your best to return school forms to your child's teachers as quickly as possible, especially the Student Dismissal Plan- blue sheet. Having updated information will ensure a smooth transition for your child.  As always, we are here to help, so if you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher or the main office.

Please also remember to complete the PowerSchool Returning electronic forms that were sent earlier this month.

Changes in Dismissal
The school day ends at 3:10. Students will be directed to their designated dismissal areas.  If you are picking up a student before the end of the day, please come into the office, advise of the dismissal, and sign your child out.  If changing the afternoon dismissal, please do so by 2:00 P.M. by calling the main office.

Please feel free to contact our amazing office staff should you have any questions.
