Our first "Week" together

Our returning students quickly found their rhythm, slipping back into familiar routines and even helping welcome new classmates to Woodward. Over the next few weeks, we’ll continue practicing these routines to ensure a safe, smooth, and joyful school year for all.

Today was our first CARE assembly of the year. Each month, we come together as a school community to discuss some of the things that make Woodward such a special place, a place where we are Respectful, Responsible, Safe and Kind. Faculty and staff introduced themselves to students and shared a little about themselves. Ask your students if they share any similar interests with a teacher they know, or met for the first time.

As always, if you ever have questions about classroom or school procedures, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or the main office.

Wishing you a great weekend,
Steve

Thanks for joining us at Open House!

It was such a joy to see so many smiling faces at Wednesday night’s Open House! Whether you’re new to Woodward, returning for 3rd grade, catching up with familiar teachers, or simply walking the halls with your children, your presence made the evening shine. The excitement in the building was contagious—and even Waldo stopped by to share his pride in our students!

Reminders from the Main Office

School Forms
We know that the start of the year is a busy time, but please try your best to return school forms to your child's teachers as quickly as possible, especially the Student Dismissal Plan- blue sheet. Having updated information will ensure a smooth transition for your child.  As always, we are here to help, so if you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher or the main office.

Please also remember to complete the PowerSchool Returning electronic forms that were sent earlier this month.

School Breakfast and Lunch
School lunch is free this year, and students will be able to get school lunch starting on the first day of school. Breakfast will also be free this year and will be available starting Tuesday, September 2nd.

Changes in Dismissal
The school day ends at 3:10. Students will be directed to their designated dismissal areas.  If you are picking up a student before the end of the day, please come into the office, advise of the dismissal, and sign your child out.  If changing the afternoon dismissal, please do so by 2:00 P.M. by calling the main office.

Please feel free to contact our amazing office staff should you have any questions.

Transportation Reminder

Information regarding transportation can be accessed through our district Transportation page. If you have any questions, please contact Sheila Hana, Transportation and Registration Specialist at: shana@nsboro.k12.ma.us.

To help families with bus arrival times and tracking, NRT offers a transportation tracking app under a new name, Beacon Connect. This will enable you to track the pick-up and drop-off times through GPS. If you are experiencing problems with the app or have questions, please contact NRT directly at BeaconConnect@GoBeacon.com
Please note that the Central Office and School Offices do NOT manage the app

Screenings will begin in the next several weeks.

If your child wears glasses, please be sure to send them in with your child each day.

If your child does not meet the hearing and/or vision benchmarks, I will send home a notice recommending a referral by a physician.
